from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Lincolnville Community Building and the
United Christian Church (UCC) located at 18 Searsmont Road, Rt. 173 in
Lincolnville Center.
The event offers a full array of fun activities for the whole family. A
parade begins at 10:00 AM at Drake's Corner and features the Lincolnville
Band. Youngsters will gather at the Library to decorate their bikes and
wagons and together with clown "Miss Merry Berry, will join the parade
as it continues down Main St to the festival.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the Lincolnville Band and
Rosy Gerry and Friends, Corrine Gentry and Lise Becu.
Children's activities include outdoor games, face painting, and
photographs with Annie Sue and Cricket, everyone's favorite miniature
horses from Moose Ridge Farm.
The main attraction is homemade strawberry shortcake with whipped cream!
Jams and other strawberry goodies, including ice cream sandwiches, and
baked goods will be for sale. Raffle tickets will be sold for seven
baskets with the winners drawn at noon.
History buffs will have a chance to have a guided tour of the church
which was built as the town meetinghouse in 1821. It has the original
boxed pews, upper pulpit, balcony, and flow glass windows.
The Strawberry Festival is sponsored by the United Christian Church
(UCC), an open and affirming community church. Proceeds from the
festival support the ongoing ministries of the church and the
maintenance of the historic Meeting House and the 60 year old Community
Building.
Bring a lawn chair and plan to spend the day visiting with friends and
enjoying the good food and entertainment. All are welcome!
